Former BBC political editor, John Sergeant is a witty and polished performer who brings a wealth of anecdotes from a career in political journalism spanning thirty years. He is the author of the best-selling Maggie: Her Fatal Legacy as well as his own memoir, Give Me Ten Seconds, which was a laugh-out loud account and sold more than 300,000 copies.

Until the end of 2003, John was Political Editor of ITN, having spent three years with ITV. Before that he was with the BBC for 30 years, starting as a general reporter and then specialising in political journalism. For 12 years he was the BBC's Chief Political Correspondent. He has also made regular appearances light entertainment shows, and toured the UK with his own show, An Audience with John Sergeant.

A hugely enjoyable after-dinner and conference speaker who offers comment and wit on the major issues of the day.
