Dr Steve Bull is a chartered psychologist, consultant, speaker and author with a 20 year track record of working with high performers in both sport and business. He has been Headquarters Psychologist for the Great Britain Team at 3 Olympic Games and has worked with the England Cricket Team since 1997 – first as “team psychologist” and now as “leadership coach”. Steve has worked in the corporate world as a coaching psychologist since the late 1990s and has consulted with a wide range of companies in Europe, the USA and the Middle East. His interests are particularly focused on any aspect of "high performance, leadership and mental toughness".
Over the past 25 years, he has worked with individuals in premiership football and rugby, the European PGA golf tour, professional tennis and motor sport. He has written 8 books, provided numerous expert interviews on national TV and radio, and made invited presentations on the psychology of performance all around the world.
In the business environment, he has extensive experience of both designing, and delivering, executive development programmes in Europe, the United States and the Middle East including "board level coaching" in a wide variety of different organizations. He has contributed to long term programmes of culture change, leadership and team development in different sectors such as retail (e.g., Sainsbury's, Tesco, Currys), banking (e.,g.,Lloyd's TSB, , Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank) and pharma (e.g., Roche Pharmaceuticals, Bausch & Lomb, Shire).
Steve was a university academic for 14 years, has served as Chair of 3 different national sports science committees and in 2004/5 spent 12 months working in New York as a business consultant.
He has a PhD in Applied Psychology, is a Fellow of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences and in 2006 was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for "outstanding work as a sport psychologist at national and international levels". His interests are particularly focused on any aspect of "high performance, leadership and mental toughness". His latest book, The Game Plan: Your Guide to Mental Toughness at Work has received considerable praise and sold in over 10 countries around the world.
